    Latitude 18 Peaberry

    $19.50

At the latitude of 18° south, “El Fuerte" farm sits at the edge of a pristine national park. Aptly named after the pre-Colombian archaeological site nearby, this area was first chosen for wine production by the Spanish in the early 1600’s. Samaipata (rest in the heights) is a small town at the base of the Bolivian Andes, located about 120km outside of Santa Cruz. The farm at El Fuerte was the experimental first of 4 farms that the Rodriguez family started in the region.

Peaberry coffees are denser than regular coffee beans, giving them more longevity and continuity. We loved the flavor profile of this peaberry from Samaipata and saw it as an opportunity to add something a little different to our offerings. The dynamic climate of Samaipata adds a rich acidity and complexity to the coffees grown here, and Latitude 18 is no exception.
