    Peru Punku Rumi

    Punku Rumi (stone gate) is situated on the western slope of the Andes Mountains. This small mountain village, a short drive from Lambayeque, is the origin of this unique coffee. The Quechua natives tend to this land, their birthright for hundreds of years. You will not find highly sophisticated machinery or monitoring equipment in Punku Rumi. Everything is tended to in the classic, old world way: as an artform, hidden away on the mountainside.

    When we first visited Punku Rumi, we traded 30 alpacas for a container of coffee. Since then, we have visited each year, working with our producers to increase productivity and the quality of life for local coffee farmers. While we're working on our Quechua language skills back home, we continue building relationships that will last a lifetime.
